Tim Hailand 1970 at the beginning of his career

Tim was born in Buffalo 1965. In 1983 he moved to New York to study at Parsons, and lived most of his life there. He lived in Berlin, before landing in Los Angeles where he currently resides. His work is mainly focused on nature, music, portraiture, history, theater and design. He often combines these various elements in his work.

He has had solo shows in New York, Milano, Chicago, Aspen, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Berlin, and has been awarded residencies at Robert Rauschenberg Studio Captiva Island, Claude Monet Giverny/Versailles Studio Residency France, & The World Views Studio Program World Trade Center New York. He published a series of "One Day in the life of" photo books, with creative subjects ranging from Marina Abramovic, Robert Wilson, Rufus Wainwright, Jake Shears, and Daniel Radcliffe. His work has been exhibited and published internationally, and is held in the permanent collections of The Guggenheim Museum, The Norton Museum of Art, MoMA New York archives, as well as numerous private collections.  Most recently he has been offering clients the opportunity to be a part of his work by offering  commissioned portraits.
